Khanna, Ludhiana- On the occasion of the holy festival of Rakshabandhan, in view of the release of funds to Satkar Sakhis under the 'Chief Minister Mother-Sisters-Betis Satkar Yojana' by the Punjab Government, 'Sakhis Honor-Respect' ceremony was organized at Ramgarhia Bhawan, Khanna. During the ceremony, Cabinet Minister Tarunpreet Singh Saund honored 1,147 Satkar Sakhis of Khanna constituency and appreciated their social contribution, dedication and spirit of service.
On this occasion, a large number of Satkar Sakhis gathered and celebrated the holy festival of Rakshabandhan by tying Rakhis to Cabinet Minister Tarunpreet Singh Saund. On this occasion, Minister Saund said that the love and respect received from mothers, sisters and daughters is a great gift. He said that the debt of this love cannot be repaid even in seven births.
Cabinet Minister Saund said that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is making continuous efforts to provide economic assistance as well as dignity, security and self-reliance to women. In this direction, 'Chief Minister Mothers-Sisters-Daughters Hospitality Scheme' has been started. On the occasion of Rakshabandhan, funds were released to Satkar Sakhis under this scheme, which has benefited more than 75 lakh women of Punjab.
He said that Satkar Sakhis have played an important role in taking this important initiative of the government to every home in villages and cities. She has done a commendable job of providing scheme information to women, identifying eligible beneficiaries and motivating them for registration.
Shri Saund said that Satkar Sakhis are not only a medium to reach the government schemes to the people, but they are also playing an important role in making women aware of their rights and government facilities. He said that due to the hard work of these Sakhis, a large number of mothers and daughters are getting the benefits of the government's welfare schemes.
In the end, Cabinet Minister Saund congratulated all the Satkar Sakhis on Rakshabandhan and thanked them especially for their dedication and spirit of service. He assured that the Punjab government will continue its efforts for the dignity, security, economic strength and empowerment of women.
