Petrol diesel prices may increase

Oil prices surged on Monday after US forces attacked two Iranian rocket launchers on Larak Island, rekindling a standoff between Washington and Tehran. Brent crude for September delivery rose 2.7% to $90.49 a barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate futures rose 2.8% to $85.76 a barrel. For India, which imports more than 85% of its crude oil requirements, a sustained rise in global oil prices could increase the country’s import bill and increase inflationary pressures. Due to high crude prices, the possibility of further changes in fuel prices in the country may also increase.
