Technology Desk: Redmi is going to launch its new budget smartphone Redmi 17 5G in India. The company has officially shared information about the launch date and some features of the phone. The phone has also been listed on the e-commerce platform Amazon. It will be launched in India on September 3.
The biggest feature of Redmi 17 5G will be its big battery. The global model has a 7,500mAh battery, while in India the phone will be launched with a 7,900mAh battery.
Large battery with 45W fast charging
Redmi 17 5G will have a 7,900mAh battery. It will be supported with 45W wired fast charging. The phone can be offered in three color options:
absolutely black
Endless Blue
Eternal Orange
The design of the phone is expected to remain the same as the global model. Dual camera setup will be available behind it.
6.9 inch 120Hz display
The phone will have a 6.9-inch HD+ display, which will support 120Hz refresh rate. Corning Gorilla Glass 7i will be available to protect the screen.
For performance, Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 chipset can be provided in the phone. The global model comes with 4GB RAM and 256GB storage.
50MP camera and 8MP selfie camera
For photography, dual camera setup will be available on the back of Redmi 17 5G. It will have a 50MP main camera, along with which there will be a secondary camera.
An 8MP front camera can be found in the phone for selfie and video calling.
Android 16 and HyperOS 3
Talking about software, Redmi 17 5G can come with HyperOS 3 based on Android 16. For connectivity, features like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and USB Type-C will be available. The phone has also been given IP64 rating.
What will be the price in India?
In the global market, the starting price of Redmi 17 5G has been kept at MYR 669 i.e. around Rs 16,000. In India, the company can launch it in a price range of up to Rs 20,000.
However, official information about all the specifications and price of the Indian model will be revealed only at the launch event on September 3. Especially regarding the battery, there will be a difference between the Indian and global models.
