New Delhi. The Government of Tamil Nadu has taken many big and important steps for the development of health services, medical education and dairy industry in the state. This decision of the government, on one hand, will open new avenues of medical education and jobs for the youth, while on the other hand, lakhs of milk producing farmers of the state will also get direct economic benefits. The government has given financial approval to effectively implement all these announcements.

More than 6,000 seats will increase in medical colleges
The state government has approved a budget of ₹351 crore to increase the capacity to admit students in government medical colleges and health institutions. A total of 6,098 new seats will be created in the state through this huge budget.
This expansion of seats will be done under different courses
B.Sc Nursing 660 new seats will be added. A total of 1,925 additional seats will be created in nursing colleges and schools. Paramedical Courses 2,778 seats will be increased in 12 major paramedical courses. 735 new seats will be created for medical courses and other higher medical courses.

This step of the government will provide great relief to thousands of youth of the state who want to make their career in the field of medical and healthcare. With the increase in seats, students will now get better opportunities and skilled medical staff and paramedical staff will be easily available to the government hospitals of the state.
Health services will get new strength
This decision of the Tamil Nadu government will not only help in providing education to the students, but will also help in providing better health facilities to the remote areas of the state. With the presence of adequate number of nurses and paramedical staff in hospitals, patients will be treated with greater speed and quality than before.
Benefit of ₹360 crore to milk producing farmers
Along with the health sector, the government has also taken a big decision in the interest of the dairy sector and animal farmers. The government has increased the incentive on milk purchase from ₹ 3 per liter to ₹ 5 per litre. This direct increase of ₹2 per liter will provide direct economic benefits to lakhs of milk producers in rural areas of the state. This increase in milk purchase incentive amount will put an additional financial burden of approximately ₹360 crore annually on the government exchequer. However, the government believes that this decision was very important to strengthen the rural economy and the economic condition of cattle herders.

Relief for both rural economy and youth
These announcements made by the Tamil Nadu government under Rule 110 in the month of August will play an important role in the all-round development of the state. On one hand, the increase in seats in medical education will provide new employment opportunities to the youth, while on the other hand, the increase in incentive amount in milk prices will improve the income of farmers. Both these decisions of the government are being welcomed across the state.
