Juventus winger Nico Gonzalez has responded angrily after fresh speculation over his future, insisting he has never said he wants to leave the club.

The Argentina international drew attention both on the field and online after Juventus’s victory over Parma on Saturday night. Introduced from the bench in the second half, Gonzalez made a decisive impact before later posting a message on Instagram.

“I'm tired - when did I ever say I wanted to leave? Did it come out of my mouth? If you don't like me, that's not my problem, you'll just have to put up with me.”

The post was aimed at rumours and social media comments suggesting that he is again looking to move away from Juventus and return to Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid.

The situation

With a little over 24 hours remaining before the transfer window closes, the 1998-born Argentine is, in effect, beginning to look like a new signing for Juventus. Luciano Spalletti has never concealed either his admiration for the player or his wish to have him in the Juventus squad for the 2026-27 season, while the club, through chief executive Giovanni Carnevali, made their position clear from the opening of the window: Gonzalez would be allowed to leave only if an offer of at least €30 million arrived for a permanent transfer. That bid has never come.
