Hardik Pandya Fitness: Indian cricket team’s star all-rounder Hardik Pandya may soon make a comeback in international cricket. Hardik, who was out of Team India for almost five months, is now close to being completely fit. According to the report, he will be available for selection for the three-match T20 International series against Afghanistan next month. Hardik is continuously training at the BCCI Center of Excellence in Bengaluru and his fitness has improved a lot.
Apart from Hardik Pandya, Nitish Kumar Reddy is also said to be fit for selection. Both the players have been working on their fitness and training at the Center of Excellence for a long time. According to the report, both the players are currently practicing with full strength. At the same time, Washington Sundar is also busy preparing for his comeback. He will have to obtain the necessary fitness clearance before playing in the Afghanistan series. A meeting regarding team selection can be held this week under the leadership of Indian Senior Selection Committee head Ajit Agarkar.
Keep an eye on Washington Sundar’s fitness
Washington Sundar recently spent time in Chennai and is now expected to return to the Center of Excellence this week. His workload has continuously increased in the last few weeks. The team management believes that the T20 series against Afghanistan can be a good opportunity for Sundar to make a comeback in international cricket. Returning to the shorter formats will help him gradually gain match fitness.
The situation regarding Jasprit Bumrah is not clear yet
Meanwhile, the team management’s biggest focus is on fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah. Bumrah did not play in the recent two-Test series against Sri Lanka. He is undergoing training and rehabilitation at the Center of Excellence. His playing in the T20 series against Afghanistan is not decided yet, because the team management is also keeping in mind the two-Test series against New Zealand to be held later this year. However, if there are no new problems in his fitness then his availability is expected for the Asian Games.
