According to the Education Ministry, preliminary information received till Sunday has revealed that 16 schools in Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading have been completely damaged. A total of 250 people, including students and teachers studying in these schools, have been declared contactless.

According to preliminary data, four schools in Rasuwa, eight in Nuwakot and four in Dhading have been affected. Schools in Rasuva’s Uttargaya and Gosainkund villages, Nuwakot’s Vidur municipality and Dhading’s Galchi, Sidhalek village municipalities and Neelkanth municipality have been damaged.

According to the ministry, most of these schools have been flooded, while classrooms in some schools have been filled with mud, sand and mud.

Four schools in Rasuwa have been completely damaged. Similarly, four schools in Nuwakot have been completely and four schools partially damaged.

12 students and one teacher of the partially damaged Chandeshwari Secondary School located in Vidur Municipality of Nuwakot are reported to be without contact.

16 students, including two teachers from Navvijay Mahendra Secondary School in Rasuwa and one teacher from Komi Shyamewangfel Secondary School, are also without contact. In Dhading, one school has been completely damaged, while three schools have been partially damaged.

The building of Neelkanth Secondary School of Uttar Gaya Municipality has not been damaged, but 200 students and four teachers of the school are reported to be without contact.

There is information that 16 students and one teacher of Komi Shyamewangfel Secondary School of Gosainkund village are missing in the flood. At the same time, four teachers of Dhading who had gone on Gosainkund pilgrimage are also without contact.

According to the ministry, only three out of 10 teachers of Nepal National Basic School in Rasuwa are in contact. Hostels of Tribhuvan Multidisciplinary Campus and Tribhuvan Trishuli Secondary School in Nuwakot were also damaged by mud and debris.

Most of the affected schools are community and some private schools. Three students of Trishuli Community Boarding School in Nuwakot are also without contact. The ministry has said that complete details of the damage caused by the floods are yet to come.

Nepal National Basic School located in Gosainkund village municipality of Rasuwa has been completely damaged. 109 students study in this school.

Similarly, Chipleti Basic School, Modern Trinity Boarding and Malikadevi Basic School of Uttargaya village municipality have been completely damaged and washed away in the flood.

Tribhuvan Trishuli Secondary School located in Vidur municipality of Nuwakot has also been completely damaged. The school building was washed away in the flood.

About 1,600 students study in this school. However, all the students were sent home before the flood occurred, so there was no human loss here.

Apart from this, Chandeshwari Secondary School, Ramchandra Basic School, Trishuli Community Boarding, Gyankunj Boarding, Uttargaya Public English School, JD Boarding School and Pioneer Boarding School were also damaged.

Bageshwari Secondary School, Success Academy, Amleshwar Gurukul Sanskrit Vidyalaya and Jaleshwar Secondary School located in Galchi village of Dhading have also been affected by the floods.

The Ministry of Education and Sports said that the final figures of damage and missing people are not yet clear, as work is underway to gather detailed information due to problems of connectivity and access in the affected areas.
