Roméo Lavia looks to have finally found his rhythm at Chelsea as his encouraging start to the season continued.
The Belgium international has now started both of the Blues' Premier League matches so far, first against Fulham and now against Brighton.
With fewer than five minutes played at Stamford Bridge, Lavia took full advantage of a mistake in the Seagulls' defence to score his first-ever goal for Chelsea.
The 22-year-old joined the club from Southampton in the summer of 2023, but a series of serious injury setbacks has badly disrupted his progress in West London.
However, he now seems to have won the confidence of new head coach Xabi Alonso, and he has already repaid that faith with an important goal.
Things soon improved further for Chelsea, as more loose defending from Brighton allowed Pedro Neto to break through and score the home side's second goal of the afternoon 10 minutes later.
