Odisha’s Rutuparna & Swetaparna Panda Clinch Title In Lagos International Classics

Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s high-flying badminton sisters Rutuparna and Swetaparna Panda have struck gold again. This time, on the global stage.
Rutuparna and Swetaparna emerged Women’s Doubles champions in the 9th Lagos International Badminton Classics 2026 meet in Nigeria.
The Panda sisters overcame Kavipriya Selvam and Simran Singhi 21-14, 25-23 in the final in 45 minutes.
Rutuparna and Swetaparna had an even more dominating win in the semis, shrugging off the challenge of South African pair Amy Ackerman and Johanita Scholtz 21-13, 21-8 in just 24 minutes.
Last month, the sisters from Odisha finished runners-up in the Yonex-Sunrise All-India Senior Ranking Badminton tournament in Chennai.
