The Yogi government is focusing on creating APAAR IDs for UP Board students in classes 9 through 12. While the process requires parental consent and is not mandatory, a target of 100% coverage has been set.

An important update has been released for UP Board students in classes 9 to 12. The Yogi government is placing special emphasis on creating APAAR IDs to strengthen the digital identity of these students, aiming to fully implement the “One Nation, One Student ID” system. In this regard, the Board of Secondary Education has issued instructions for the advance registration of students in classes 9 and 11, while the process of filling out examination forms for classes 10 and 12 is also underway. The Board has urged all schools to ensure that students’ APAAR IDs are generated and recorded in their application forms.

The Board has clarified that providing an APAAR ID is not currently mandatory. However, it has requested that these IDs be created for the students’ benefit, as they will help secure their digital academic future. According to Bhagwati Singh, Secretary of the Board of Secondary Education, all school principals, teachers, and parents have been requested to ensure that APAAR IDs are registered for 100% of the students before the deadline for advance registration.

How is an APAAR ID created?

Creating an APAAR ID is a simple and secure process carried out entirely with parental consent. Parents must provide their consent through the school, after which a unique digital ID is generated for the student. This ID remains linked to the student’s entire academic career, regardless of which school or state they study in.

What are the benefits for students?

Generated based on accurate information and data, this ID will help students easily access benefits from scholarships, government schemes, and other academic facilities. Additionally, if a student changes schools or states, their entire academic record can be easily tracked using this ID, thereby reducing paperwork and administrative hassles.

Completing the process on time is essential

The council has clarified that this process must be completed before the deadline for advance registration. Parents and schools are advised not to delay, ensuring that students do not face any difficulties in availing the benefits of any schemes or facilities in the future.
