Delhi Swine Flu: Swine flu has started showing its outbreak in Delhi. There has been one more death due to swine flu in Delhi. An elderly person suffering from H1N1 died on Saturday night. A 70-year-old man suffering from swine flu died during treatment in a private hospital in Dwarka area of Delhi. The hospital has confirmed the death due to swine flu. However, the deceased elder was also suffering from diabetes, chronic kidney disease and sleep apnea. After swine flu, he also developed pneumonia. The deceased were residents of Uttam Nagar, Delhi. Earlier on August 5, a girl had died due to swine flu. Let us tell you that Delhi Health Department has not yet confirmed a single death due to swine flu in Delhi.
In the statement issued on the death of the elderly, the hospital management has said that the elderly patient was admitted to the hospital with H1N1 infection and other diseases. During treatment, the patient also developed sepsis and multiple organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS). The hospital attributed the elderly man's death to sepsis and said H1N1 infection was a part of the patient's medical condition.
The elderly had reached the OPD of the hospital for treatment on 22 August. Actually, he was having trouble breathing for the last two-three days. After which, for this reason, he was admitted to the hospital through emergency. After this, he was admitted in the hospital for the last eight days and meanwhile he died during treatment. The elderly man also had diabetes, chronic kidney disease and sleep apnea. Pneumonia also occurred after H1N1 infection.
A 3 year old girl died on August 5.
Earlier, on August 5, a three-year-old and 11-month-old girl suffering from H1N1 had died at BLK Max Hospital in Delhi. During investigation, he was confirmed to have H1N1 infection and was suffering from Acute Necrotizing Encephalopathy.

The cases of swine flu i.e. H1N1 infection are continuously increasing in Delhi. In the last 24 hours, 166 new cases have been reported in the capital. With this the total number of cases has crossed 2,600. Amid the sudden increase in infections, the Delhi government has started reviewing the preparedness of hospitals, so that there is no problem in treatment in case the number of patients increases.
