Mumbai: Led by its founder Abhijeet Dipke, Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) representatives have been visiting government schools raising issues to infrastructure and administration under its ‘School Thik Karo’ campaign.
On Saturday, Dipke alleged that expired food items are being provided to children in government schools.
In a video shared on X, Dipke is seen showing a masala (spices) pack which is “packaged in August 2025, use by February 2026”.
“Expired food is being provided to the kids of rural India,” Dipke says.
“Would those sitting in power feed the same food to their own children,” Dipke wrote in the post.
Vowing to continue his campaign despite the threat of legal action, he stated, “If exposing this means FIRs against us, then please do. We won’t stop exposing the truth.”
The claim has not yet been verified, with Dipke not specifying the school or location involved in the allegation.
Dipke launched the ‘School Thik Karo’ campaign from his native village in Maharashtra’s Hingoli district a fortnight back.
He claimed that the government school at his native place received its first computer system. Sharing a video on X, Dipke had written, “When the Govt Fails, People Step Up! First ever computer arrives at my village. Change is possible!”
He also claimed that students in his village received benches at their school, and called it “one of the biggest and happiest moments” of his life.
The campaign has highlighted issues like broken toilets, lack of drinking water and poor infrastructure at government schools across Maharashtra. He has repeatedly raised the question why ministers and officials do not enrol their own children in government schools, and has called for the use of PM CARES funds to upgrade school facilities.
