Paying tribute to Major Dhyanchand, the Chief Minister said that his life inspires discipline, hard work and dedication. He said that there is no dearth of talent and energy among the youth of Uttarakhand. The need is to give them the right platform, resources and training.

Scholarships and government jobs for players

Players and coaches who won medals in national and international competitions were honored in the program. Arrangements for insurance and financial assistance in emergency situations have also been made for the players.
