Liverpool have completed a huge £106 million agreement to sign Paris Saint-Germain forward Bradley Barcola. The France international has been earmarked as the ideal replacement for Mohamed Salah and is set to join Anfield on a five-year contract after a major breakthrough in talks.

Liverpool have now reached a full agreement to bring in French attacker Barcola from PSG. According to The Athletic, the Merseyside club will pay an initial package worth £106 million (€125m), while performance-based add-ons could increase the overall fee by another £17m (€20m). The 23-year-old is now expected to sign a five-year deal at Anfield.

He is being brought in to fill Salah's shoes.

Barcola was identified as Liverpool's top choice to replace Salah, who left the club at the end of last season. Replacing the Egyptian great is an enormous challenge, but the Reds have placed significant trust in the young winger. A decisive breakthrough in the complex negotiations came after important discussions took place on Tuesday.

Liverpool's senior leadership, headed by sporting director Richard Hughes, CEO Billy Hogan and Fenway Sports Group president Mike Gordon, succeeded in agreeing terms directly with PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi. Even though he still had two years left on his contract in the French capital, Barcola remained fully focused on completing a move to Anfield.

Barcola showed his quality on the biggest stages.

The Lyon academy product demonstrated his value in a PSG squad packed with stars last season under Luis Enrique. He featured in 49 matches, scoring 13 goals and providing seven assists as the Parisian side retained both the Ligue 1 and Champions League titles.

Barcola secured his playing time despite strong competition from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Desire Doue. Since breaking into senior football in the 2021-22 season, the attacker has produced an impressive return of 39 goals and 37 assists in 152 first-team appearances.

His class was also highlighted during this summer's World Cup. The forward played an important part for France, appearing in all eight of their matches and scoring three goals on the world stage.

Medical checks and the next steps

The transfer has now entered its closing stages, with Barcola expected to undergo a medical on Merseyside in the next 24 hours. After the remaining formalities are completed, he will be officially presented as Liverpool's latest attacking addition.

The upcoming move also explains his recent absences from the PSG squad. Enrique did not include the forward for their 2026-27 league opener against Rennes on Sunday, and he was absent again for Friday's 2-2 draw away to Lille. With his five-year contract now close to being finalised, Barcola is set to begin the next chapter of his career under Iraola at Anfield.
