Tezzbuzz Desk- Amazon's Best in Tech survey has revealed the preferences of users buying laptops and tablets. Processor performance is most important in a laptop, whereas while buying a tablet, most people give priority to the quality and size of the display.
With the increasing use of technology, laptops and tablets are no longer limited to just studies or office work. People are also paying special attention to technologies like performance, features, battery and AI while buying devices. Amazon's Best in Tech survey has revealed a picture of users' shopping preferences.
According to the survey, processor performance is the most important feature for 87% of laptop buyers. That is, while buying a new laptop, most of the users first look at the speed and processing capacity of the device. After the processor, features like RAM, storage and battery life are important for buyers. The special thing is that for many users, the features of the device matter more than the brand. In the survey, 53% people said that if better features are available from another brand at the same price, then they can change their favorite brand. At the same time, 48% buyers compare models of two to three brands before purchasing. Only 18% people come to purchase after choosing a brand in advance.
The attraction of Artificial Intelligence i.e. AI features is also increasing rapidly among laptop buyers. In the survey, 58% of the users considered the upcoming AI features to be very useful for their work. Among AI- features, 28% people want on-device AI assistant, 25% want AI processing chip and 23% want AI based content creation and editing features. This indicates that AI capabilities may also become a major purchasing factor when buying a laptop in the future.
In which budget do people want to buy laptop?
The survey also revealed different preferences regarding the budget of laptops.
- 24% Users are looking at laptops under ₹40,000.
- 28% Users are preferring the range of ₹40,000 to ₹60,000.
- 22% Users are looking at models ranging from ₹60,000 to ₹80,000.
- 14% Users are willing to spend ₹80,000 to ₹1 lakh.
- 12% Users are looking at laptops priced above ₹1 lakh.
According to this data, the segment of ₹ 40,000 to ₹ 60,000 is being liked the most.
Display is most important for tablet buyers
The priorities of those buying tablets are different compared to laptops. According to the survey, the display size and quality of the tablet is most important for 74% people. After this, 12% users gave priority to price and 9% to processor. That means, while buying a tablet, a large and good quality screen remains the biggest attraction for users.
Talking about the budget of tablets, the price range of ₹ 20,000 to ₹ 35,000 is being liked the most. 59% users preferred this segment. There are different reasons behind buying a tablet. About 29% people see it as an affordable alternative to laptop. Whereas 21% users want to buy a tablet for media and entertainment, while for 17% people, its portability i.e. easy carrying anywhere is the biggest reason.
According to Amazon, more than 40,000 responses have been included in the Best in Tech survey. The data generated from these will also be used for Best in Tech Awards. The survey results show that performance and AI features are increasing in importance in the laptop market, while display and portability are still the major purchase reasons for tablets. In such a situation, in the coming time, the role of AI may become stronger in the priorities of users while choosing tech devices.
