The National Testing Agency (NTA) released the UGC-NET results on Friday night (August 28). The NTA announced the results of the University Grants Commission's (UGC) National Eligibility Test (NET) covering 84 subjects. A total of 6.07 lakh candidates appeared for the exam. According to the NTA, over 4,000 candidates have qualified for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), while more than 97,000 candidates have qualified for admission to PhD programs.

A senior NTA official stated that out of the 6.07 lakh candidates who took the exams across 84 subjects, over 97,000 qualified for PhD admission and more than 4,000 qualified for the JRF. Candidates can log in to the official website, https://ugcnet.nta.nic.in, using their application number to access their scorecards.

**Re-examination for 3 subjects to be held in September**
The NTA had ordered a re-examination for candidates who took the tests for English, Commerce, and Sociology in June of this year. This decision followed the discovery of factual, typographical, translation, and linguistic errors in the question papers by an expert committee. The exams for these subjects will be held next month, in September. The NTA noted that candidates who appeared for these specific subjects might receive an "invalid password" message if they attempt to check their results now.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced the release of the results via social media. The agency stated, "The National Testing Agency has declared the UGC-NET June 2026 results for 84 subjects today, August 28, 2026. The results/scorecards are available on the official UGC-NET website. Candidates can log in to https://ugcnet.nta.nic.in to view, download, and print their scorecards." 

Additionally, the NTA stated in the post that the exams for the three subjects whose results have not yet been released will be held in the second week of September. The agency wrote, "Candidates for the English, Commerce, and Sociology subjects—whose exams are scheduled to be re-conducted on September 9 and 10, 2026—may receive an 'Invalid Application Number/Password' message if they attempt to access their UGC-NET June 2026 scorecards. Their scorecards/results will be made available only after their exams have been re-conducted."
