Ruben Amorim admitted AC Milan still have “a lot of work to do”, particularly in defence, after their 2-0 win over Venezia, but he also reserved special praise for Goncalo Ramos. “It looks like two guys, but it’s just him.”

It was shaping up to be another frustrating evening for the Rossoneri in their first home game of the season, yet just as in the 2-1 win away to Torino, they required an impact from the bench to turn the match.

“We had more chances to score, but we never had long periods of possession, we never calmed down the game, and that was a little bit what Venezia wanted. We managed some things well, this game shows we have a lot of work to do, but we won and that is important.”
