Playing at a cricket academy at IMT Manesar in Gurugram turned out to be the last moment for 8-year-old Akash Kumar. The children playfully started the 750 kg pitch roller machine standing in the ground and during this time the sky fell in front of it. He died on the spot after being hit by a heavy machine.

At the time of the accident, Akash's elder brother and two other children were also present. After the incident, the family first got the news only that the child was injured, but after about an hour the complete information about his death came to light.

What is the whole matter?

Police have identified the dead child as Akash Kumar. He was originally a resident of Nalanda district of Bihar. Akash's parents live in Gurugram with their seven children. It was told that at the time of the accident, Akash was playing inside the cricket academy with his elder brother Neil and two other children.

Who moved the 750 kg roller?

Investigation revealed that the roller used to level the field weighed about 750 kg. Children started playing by climbing on it. Meanwhile, the hand of one of the children reached the miniature circuit breaker of the machine and the roller suddenly started. After the machine was started, the children started moving it back and forth. Meanwhile, the sky fell in front of him and the heavy roller passed over him. He was seriously injured in the accident and died on the spot. The remaining three children ran away from there.

When did the family get the news of the death?

After the accident, Akash's elder brother Neel informed the family about the incident, but initially he told that his brother was injured. The family immediately reached the academy and started searching for him. Meanwhile, some cricket players who reached there noticed the dead body of Akash lying on the ground. They immediately arranged a vehicle and the child was taken to a nearby private hospital, but doctors declared him dead. The family came to know about the seriousness of the accident and Akash's death after about an hour.

Did the family file a case?

Akash's relative Vikas Kumar said that the family considers it an unfortunate accident and does not want action against anyone. According to Gurugram Police PRO Sandeep Turan, the family did not suspect any kind of conspiracy or negligence and gave a written statement. On this basis, investigation was conducted under section 194 of BNSS. After post-mortem, the child's body was handed over to the family on Friday.
