Tezzbuzz Desk- Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going on a tour of two important countries of Central Asia, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, from today. During this four-day visit, PM Modi will emphasize on strengthening India's strategic and economic relations with both the countries. He will meet Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and hold delegation level talks. After this, PM Modi will participate in the 26th summit of SCO to be held in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan.

Prime Minister Modi will be on a state visit to Uzbekistan on 29 and 30 August. This visit is taking place on the invitation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. This will be PM Modi's fourth visit to the Central Asian country. Many important areas including trade, investment, defence, digital connectivity, energy and education will be discussed between the two countries in Uzbekistan. Prime Minister Modi and President Mirziyoyev will review various aspects of bilateral cooperation and also consider the future strategy.

During the talks, both the leaders will discuss ways to increase cooperation keeping in mind the development goals of their respective countries. In this, opportunities will be explored to advance the shared development vision of India's 'Developed India 2047' and Uzbekistan's 'Uzbekistan 2030'. People-to-people contacts and cultural ties between the two countries will also be included in the agenda of PM Modi's visit. During his visit to Uzbekistan, Prime Minister Modi will visit Shastri Memorial in Tashkent. Apart from this, he will also visit Mahatma Gandhi Center located at Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies. The visit to these places will show the importance of historical and cultural relations between India and Uzbekistan.

After Uzbekistan, Prime Minister Modi will be in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan on 31 August and 1 September. Here he will participate in the 26th summit of SCO on the invitation of President Sadir Japarov. This year SCO is also celebrating the 25th anniversary of its establishment. India became a full member of this organization in the year 2017.

During the summit, Prime Minister Modi can put forward India's priorities in his address on issues to regional security, connectivity and economic opportunities. India has been continuously emphasizing on strengthening cooperation against terrorism and extremism, increasing regional connectivity and exploring new opportunities for economic cooperation through the platform of SCO.

During the SCO summit, bilateral meetings of Prime Minister Modi with the heads of state of many member countries are also proposed. Mutual relations and regional and global issues can be discussed in these meetings. Apart from this, PM Modi will also attend the opening ceremony of the 6th World Nomad Games. This event is an important platform to present the rich cultural heritage and traditional sports of Central Asia to the world.

This visit of PM Modi is being considered important in terms of India's policy of active diplomatic participation and regional cooperation in Central Asia ahead of 'Act East'. Along with increasing cooperation with Uzbekistan in trade, energy, defense and digital sectors, India will try to further strengthen its role on regional security and connectivity issues through SCO. In this four-day visit, from bilateral meetings to the big forum of SCO, PM Modi's focus is expected to be on India's strategic interests, economic cooperation and strong relations with Central Asia..
