Often leftover cooked food is refrigerated and eaten hot the next day. Some people say that it is not right to eat hot food. Some say that heating is done before eating, so there is no possibility of problem. But what is the real truth?
Dietitians say the answer depends on which food is being heated. We eat many foods in our daily life, which can become several times more harmful due to heating (Food Reheating).
1. the rice
Cooked rice may contain spores of bacteria such as 'Bacillus cereus'. If rice is left at room temperature for long periods after cooking, bacteria can grow and toxins may form, which are not completely destroyed by heating.
2. Most other greens, including spinach
The natural nitrates in vegetables become harmful when refrigerated and reheated repeatedly. Leaving cooked vegetables at room temperature for a long time increases the growth of bacteria. So if you realize that the vegetables are too much, cool them quickly and keep them in the fridge after cooking. Then take out the rest and heat it well and eat it.
3. potatoes
Most Bengali dishes contain potatoes. It is not that potato will become poisonous if heated. However, if cooked potatoes are left at room temperature for a long time, several bacteria including 'Clostridium botulinum' can develop. Especially if there are any items of baked potatoes wrapped in foil, they should not be left out for long.
4. chicken meat
Cooked chicken can be reheated, but it is most important that it is stored properly. Chicken meat left at room temperature for a long time can grow salmonella or other harmful bacteria. Refrigerated chicken should not be reheated repeatedly.

5. the egg
Any food made with eggs—such as makho makho egg curry, omelets, or fried rice with eggs—is important to store properly. Take out and reheat as much as you need instead of reheating the same food over and over again.
6. mushroom
Do not leave any mushroom pods too long after cooking. Such food can harbor harmful bacteria. If you can cool it in time and put it in the fridge, and if the food is stored properly in the fridge, there should be no harm in eating it later.
