The Nepal government had indicated on the very first day that it would not allow rescue teams from any country to come to Nepal. After this accident, the first proposal to send an NDRF team was made by India. The Government of India had proposed to the Government of Nepal to send NDRF team for rescue and relief work if necessary.
Nepal's Foreign Ministry had said that India does not need to send any such rescue team. Nepal said that it will accept the relief material but cannot allow the rescue team of any country to come at present. After all, what is the reason that after such a huge disaster, Nepal is not allowing any country to bring rescue team? If sources are to be believed, the constant pressure from China is behind this.
In fact, the areas of Nepal that have suffered the most damage are adjacent to the border with China. It is visible in the pictures that the Kerung Naka connecting the Nepal-China border has been completely destroyed and there is no trace of the international border left there. China fears that soldiers and spies may come from foreign countries in the name of rescue force and they may do something to keep spy surveillance on China's border.
A senior official of Nepal's Foreign Ministry said that ever since this accident happened, the Chinese Embassy has been continuously pressurizing that the rescue team of any country or the army of any country in the name of rescue team should not be allowed to come to the border areas of Rasuwa.
On the condition of anonymity, the Nepali minister said that he is surprised that after this natural disaster, other countries including India are extending a helping hand and China is pressurizing from the very first minute not to allow the rescue team of any other country to enter the surrounding areas bordering Rasuwa.
China is more concerned about the rescue teams of western countries including America than India. The Chinese Embassy and the Chinese administration feel that in the name of rescue, people from the army and intelligence agencies of those countries may come to the border area of China. Nepal's Foreign Ministry has urged the Indian Government to understand the sensitivity of the border area.
