Milk Rate in Mumbai: After sugar, onions, and eggs, milk prices are now set to rise. The Mumbai Milk Producers Association has announced a ₹9 hike in milk prices starting September 1.

Milk Price Increase: The general public will face a major inflationary blow starting September 1. In Mumbai, the country's financial capital, milk prices will see a steep increase of ₹9 per liter. The Mumbai Milk Producers Association made this announcement. With this hike, the current wholesale price of milk in Mumbai will rise from ₹93 per liter to ₹102 per liter.

The Mumbai Milk Producers Association took this decision in light of the rising costs of dairy animals and animal fodder. Association President Chandra Kumar Singh stated that these new prices would remain in effect in Mumbai from September 1, 2026, to February 28, 2027. The decision was finalized during a meeting held at the Diwan Centre Hall in Jogeshwari.

25% Hike in Animal Fodder Costs – Association

During the meeting, it was noted that alongside the rising cost of dairy animals, the prices of animal fodder—such as grains, *turchuni* (coarse grain flour), and *chana chunni* (split gram husk)—have increased by up to 25%. It was also highlighted that the rising costs of fodder, oil cake, and other inputs are placing a financial burden on milk producers.

Milk to Sell at ₹102

In view of rising production costs, the price of milk has been increased by ₹9 per liter, bringing it to ₹102 per liter. The Mumbai Milk Producers Association clarified that this decision was taken to provide relief to milk producers facing escalating costs.

What Are Milk Rates in Delhi-NCR?

It is worth noting that in Delhi and surrounding areas like Ghaziabad, Noida, Gurugram, and Faridabad, full-cream milk is currently selling at ₹72 per liter. Meanwhile, local milk vendors are selling milk at ₹80 per liter. The price of cow's milk ranges from ₹65 to ₹70 per liter. However, prices charged by local dairy farms or loose milk vendors vary depending on the area.
