Monsoon weakened in Rajasthan, 21% rain deficiency, heat increased

Monsoon has now reached a weak phase in Rajasthan. So far the state has received 21 percent less rainfall than normal. With the shift of monsoon trough towards North India towards Jammu region, there has been a decrease in rainfall activities in the state.

The weather remained clear in most parts of the state on Thursday also. However, light to moderate rain occurred in some areas of Kota and Bharatpur divisions.

According to weather experts, the monsoon trough is likely to remain active in North India only. Its effect will also be visible on the weather of Rajasthan.

Meteorological Center Jaipur has issued a forecast of mainly dry weather in the state for the next four days. However, there may be light rain or drizzle along with cloud cover at isolated places in Bharatpur, Jaipur and Kota divisions.

During the last 24 hours, the highest rainfall in the state was measured at 34-34 mm in Manoharthana of Jhalawar and Chhipa Baraud of Baran.

Apart from this, light rain occurred in some parts of Baran, Jhalawar, Dholpur, Karauli and Sawai Madhopur. The weather remained generally clear in other areas of the state.

The effect of the recent rains is also visible on Bisalpur Dam. The gauge of Triveni river currently remains at 2.40 meters.

Due to this, the water level of Bisalpur dam increased by one centimeter to 314.10 RL meters on Thursday. With the weakening of monsoon, the effect of heat has increased in many districts of the state.

Due to the influence of western winds, the temperature increased in Sriganganagar, Hanumangarh, Phalodi, Bikaner and Churu. The maximum temperature in Sriganganagar was measured at 41.4 degrees Celsius. Even in the last days of August, the scorching heat is troubling people in many areas.

According to the Meteorological Department, monsoon activities are likely to remain weak in Rajasthan in the next four days. The weather will be clear and dry in most of the districts.

However, due to local conditions in Bharatpur, Jaipur and Kota divisions, there will be possibility of isolated cloudy sky and light rain or drizzle.
