The Trump administration is concerned about the missing people in Nepal. Washington has offered to join the rescue operation from Kathmandu.
According to the head of Nepal Tourism Board, 65 American citizens are also among the missing in this water disaster. Nepal Police said that more than 1,400 people are missing in the floods on Wednesday.
According to China’s state broadcaster CCTV, 558 people are missing in Tibet. Of these, 260 are foreigners.
According to CBS News report, President Donald Trump informed reporters in the Oval Office on Thursday that the administration is in constant touch with the Nepal government.
US officials have spoken to Nepali leaders and have offered them all assistance including joining the rescue operation.
Trump said that there is no definite information about how many of our citizens are missing. But according to Nepal Tourism Board, 65 Americans are missing.
Confirming that at least 65 American citizens are missing, Nepal Tourism Board CEO Hikmat Singh Iyer said 27 foreign nationals have been rescued from the flood-hit area of Rasuwa district.
Among them, two are US citizens (one male and one female). According to a US State Department spokesperson, the number of affected civilians in Nepal may be around 90. There is no information about the death of any American yet.

The US Embassy in Nepal has expressed its deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives in the floods. The embassy said it was working to locate the missing US citizens.
The embassy appealed to US citizens present in the flooded area of Nepal to try to contact their families, hotels, guides or trekking and tour companies as soon as possible. However, the embassy said communications were still severely disrupted.
The US State Department said it was monitoring the situation closely. Is sending a consultant to help in relief efforts. A $500,000 grant is also being awarded to Catholic Relief Services.
Leslie Crespi of Indian spiritual leader Sadhguru Vasudev’s Isha Foundation said 80 people associated with her organization were missing in the disaster. All of them had gone on pilgrimage to Kailash Mansarovar.
Crespi said the 80 missing people were from 19 countries. These also include 22 Americans. He said around 1,000 people were involved in the pilgrimage.
American citizen Deepak Dundu said that his wife Sridevi Vejela is also among the missing in Nepal. He completed a pilgrimage to Mount Kailash in Tibet with the Isha Foundation. They were entering Nepal from China when the flood occurred.
