Arsenal’s Bruno Guimaraes and Ezri Konsa could make their Premier League debuts for the club in its clash against Aston Villa on Monday, head coach Mikel Arteta said.

Brazilian midfielder Guimaraes joined the Gunners from Newcastle United, while English defender Ezri Konsa was roped in from their upcoming opponent.

Guimaraes already played for the club in the 3-0 Community Shield win against Manchester City but suffered a minor injury and hence missed Arsenal’s Premier League opener against Coventry City.

However, Arteta said that the 28-year-old is back in training. “He (Guimaraes) is potentially available, yes,” Arteta told reporters on ‌Thursday.

“He’s out on the pitch. He’s been doing training sessions. But we need to manage the load to get him to Monday ‌and be in the best possible position to be selected,” he added.

Meanwhile, when asked about Arsenal potentially exploring a move to sign Atletico Madrid’s Julian Alvarez, Arteta asserted that he was not interested in entertaining such speculations.

“Don’t go there. I’m not going to make comments about players from other clubs,” Arteta said, adding, “You know I’m not going ‌to make comments on that publicly because that would be doing a different job.”
