3 Youth ODI and 2 Youth Test matches are to be played between the Under-19 teams of India and Australia next month. Team India has been announced for this series. Sons of Virender Sehwag and Rahul Dravid have been selected in India's Youth ODI team. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced this squad on Thursday (27 August).
Virender Sehwag's elder son Aryaveer Sehwag has been selected as a batsman. Whereas Rahul Dravid's younger son Anvay Dravid has been included in the team as a wicketkeeper batsman. The captaincy of the Under-19 ODI team has been given to Lakshya Raichandani, while Yashvardhan Chauhan is his deputy. Yashvardhan has been made the captain for the Youth Test and the responsibility of vice-captain has been handed over to Lakshya Raichandani.
Aryaveer playing DPL
Right-handed batsman Aryaveer was recently seen playing in the Delhi Premier League. He made headlines when he scored 297 runs against Meghalaya in the Cooch Behar Trophy in 2024. Anyav was also selected in the Indian Under-19 team for the Sri Lanka tour last month.
The Youth ODI series between India and Australia will start from September 18. All the matches of this three-match series will be played in Rajkot. The first Youth Test will also be held in Rajkot, while the second Youth Test will be hosted by Ahmedabad.
