EPFO Portal Updates: The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has updated its member portal with new features and facilities for the convenience of its members. EPFO subscribers no longer need to make repeated visits to offices or rely constantly on their employers for essential tasks such as PF withdrawal, UAN activation, or KYC updates.
The grievance redressal process has been improved on the newly updated portal, and several services have been significantly simplified.
EPFO Portal: Which services are now available online?
The key facilities available to members on the new digital interface, along with the necessary prerequisites, are as follows:
1- UAN Activation: Members can now generate and activate their new UAN via the UMANG app using Aadhaar-based face authentication. An Aadhaar number and a mobile number linked to it are required for this.
2- Online PF Withdrawal: Online claims can be filed for advance withdrawals (for reasons such as illness, education, marriage, or purchasing a home) and for final PF settlement. An active UAN and complete KYC details are mandatory for this.
3- E-Nomination Facility: Members can add or update family members as nominees for PF and pension benefits, ensuring the family faces no difficulties in claiming these benefits in the event of any untoward incident.
4- KYC and Bank Detail Updates: Details regarding Aadhaar, PAN, and bank accounts can be easily linked to or updated against the UAN.
5- PF Transfer Service: Upon joining a new job, PF funds and service records can be transferred online from the previous company to the new one.
6- E-Passbook Download: A facility to view and download details regarding employer and employee contributions, interest earned, and transaction history.
7- Death Claims: In the event of a member's demise, eligible nominees or family members can apply online for claims related to PF, pension, and insurance (EDLI). Check these points before filing any claim
To avail of EPFO services without interruption, subscribers should keep the following important points in mind:
Aadhaar-Mobile Linking: It is crucial to have your mobile number linked to your Aadhaar, as OTPs for all online services are sent to this number.
Date of Joining and Exit: After leaving a job, the exit date must be correctly updated on the portal; otherwise, the claim for final PF settlement could be rejected.
Accurate KYC Details: The name, date of birth, and gender recorded in the UAN must exactly match the data in your Aadhaar records.
Keeping your KYC information updated on the portal and completing the e-nomination process helps avoid unnecessary delays during future PF transfers or withdrawals. Log in to your UAN today and verify all your account details.
