A sudden and extremely severe flood coming from Tibet has caused huge devastation in Timure Bazar area of ​​Rasuwa district of Nepal. Due to this catastrophic flood in Lende Khola (Bhotekoshi River), there has been massive damage at Rasuwa border crossing.

According to the information received from the officials, two entire markets including Timure and its surrounding areas have been completely destroyed due to this flood. So far, 46 people have been confirmed dead in this devastating disaster. It is feared that around 1000 people may have been swept away amid this horrific scene of devastation, although this figure is yet to be officially confirmed.

PM Balendra Shah called an emergency meeting Amidst this sudden disaster and huge devastation in Nepal, Prime Minister Balendra Shah has called a very important emergency meeting of National Disaster Management. Prime Minister's advisor Asim Shah said that PM Balendra Shah himself is in direct contact with the chief district magistrates of the affected areas and is monitoring the situation from moment to moment.

He informed that a large number of goods vehicles and other valuables were parked in Rasuwa Bhansar area, which were washed away in the strong current of water. Apart from this, a new bridge constructed recently at the place which was damaged in last year's flood has also been washed away in this flood.

The devastating flood occurred around 9 am on Wednesday morning. According to District Police Office Rasuwa, this severe flood suddenly hit the dense settlement of Timure Bazaar at around 9 am on Wednesday morning. Chief District Officer of Rasuwa, Narendra Pariyar said that due to this sudden flood, there are reports of many hydroelectric (hydropower) projects located in low-lying coastal areas being washed away and water entering residential settlements.

Vehicles going towards four districts were stopped in Kathmandu In view of the dire flood conditions and potential dangers in Rasuwa, the traffic police has taken strict measures. All types of vehicles going from Kathmandu to Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Chitwan and Dhading have been stopped in Kathmandu itself. According to SP Nareshraj Suvedi of Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, in view of the safety of passengers, the movement of vehicles on the routes leading to these districts has been currently banned.

Two military helicopters left for Rasuwa for relief and rescue. Two helicopters of Nepali Army have been sent to Rasuwa to rescue people trapped in flood affected areas and deliver relief material. Nepalese Army spokesperson and Brigadier General Rajaram Basnet said that both military helicopters have been deployed for relief and rescue in the affected area. After this severe flood in Bhotekoshi river, the Prime Minister's Office has instructed all the private helicopter companies of the country to remain alert.

Special appeal from Home Minister of Nepal Nepal's Home Minister Sudan Gurung has urged the people living in the river bank areas to immediately move to safe places after this terrible flood in the Bhotekoshi River from Tibet side. An urgent public alert issued by the Home Minister said that the coastal areas of Bhotekoshi and Trishuli rivers up to Muglin are at extremely high risk. Therefore, the families living on the river banks of Rasuwa, Dhading, Gorkha, Chitwan and Nuwakot have been requested to stay in safe places till further orders.

The Home Minister has appealed to the common citizens not to travel on the Prithvi Highway, Galchi-Nuwakot-Rasuwa-Syafrubesi road and Muglin-Narayangarh road and to keep the traffic on these routes completely closed.
