Gold Price Yesterday: Delhi Bullion Market
Gold had posted a sharp rise in the Delhi bullion market on Tuesday, extending its gains for the fourth straight session. The price of 99.9 per cent pure gold climbed Rs 2,700 to Rs 1,67,100 per 10 grams.
According to the All India Sarafa Association, the same gold had been quoted at Rs 1,64,400 per 10 grams on Monday. The international spot market, however, saw some profit-taking after two consecutive sessions of gains. Spot gold declined $11.87, or 0.26 per cent, to $4,639.51 per ounce.
Gold Futures Price: What Happened On Tuesday?
Gold futures moved in the opposite direction on Tuesday as weak spot demand prompted traders to reduce their positions.
The October-delivery gold contract on MCX declined Rs 120, or 0.07 per cent, to settle at Rs 1,63,109 per 10 grams. In overseas trading, gold futures in New York also slipped 0.23 per cent to $4,641.42 per ounce.
Market experts attributed the decline in domestic gold futures to subdued demand in the spot market. The contrasting movements across physical, futures and international markets highlight the volatility currently being witnessed in gold prices.
