During the grand inauguration of 'Lokmata Ahilyabai Matrishakti Yatra Yojana' and flag-off program of special buses organized in the capital Lucknow, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given a huge gift to the daughters of the state. CM Yogi announced that in the coming month of October-November, scooties will be provided to 50 thousand daughters of the state pursuing graduation.

Addressing the program, CM Yogi said that the double engine government of the state has kept the safety, respect and self-reliance of women at the center of all its schemes. He clarified that the government has resolved to strengthen sisters and daughters at every level. From the birth of a girl child to her education, employment and self-employment, the government is continuously working to guarantee security and self-reliance at every step.

Free bus service for women from 27 to 29 August

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that on the occasion of the holy festival of Rakshabandhan, on August 27, 28 and 29, completely free travel facility will be available in Uttar Pradesh Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) and city buses for all the mothers, sisters and daughters of the state. At the same time, from August 29 onwards, senior women aged 60 years or above will also continue to get the benefit of free bus travel permanently. To avail this facility, elderly women will have to show their identity card (like Voter ID or other valid documents) and the entire fare for their journey will be borne by the state government itself.

This entire welfare scheme has been named 'Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar Matrushakti Yojana'. CM Yogi said that Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar had presented a great message of women's self-reliance and rights in the society. Apart from this, he has also had a historical contribution in the restoration and revival of the ancient temples of the country.

Hostel for working women also named after Ahilyabai

CM Yogi Adityanath further informed that the scheme of hostels being built for working women in the state is also being named after Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar. Along with this, the name of the special bus service has also been dedicated in his name.

During his address, CM Yogi made a scathing attack on the governments before 2017. He said that before the year 2017, the safety of daughters in Uttar Pradesh was going through a serious crisis. Schemes like old age pension and scholarship were dominated by middlemen. There was a fear of trouble just before festivals and the parallel power of the mafia used to run parallel to the government.

Jail or hell for the one who violates daughter's security

Speaking on the issue of security, the Chief Minister said in a stern tone that his government has taken unprecedented steps to ensure the safety of the daughters of the state. If anyone dares to breach the security of the daughter, either inside or outside the house, a destination between jail or hell has been decided for him.

Citing statistics, he said that in the year 2017, there were only around 10 thousand women policemen in the state police department, whose number has now increased to a record 45 thousand. As soon as the upcoming new recruitments are completed, this number will cross 50 thousand. Apart from this, three separate battalions of Mahila PAC have been formed in the state and modern security arrangements like pink booths and one stop centers have also been implemented.

Today daughters are also working in night shift

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said with pride that the ultimate goal of the government is that every daughter of the state should go out of the house without any fear, work, do business and return to her home completely safe. He said that today the environment of Uttar Pradesh has become so safe that daughters are happily working even late at night i.e. night shifts and 36 percent women in the state have become completely self-reliant.
