Due to the activity of monsoon in many parts of the country, the weather pattern has completely changed. The rainy season continues in many states of the country including Delhi-NCR. Even today, the Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued warnings of heavy rain, strong storm and lightning in many states.

According to meteorologists, the low pressure area over Jharkhand is now slowly moving towards west-northwest direction. Due to its effect, rainfall activities are likely to intensify in many areas of North India, Central India, Northeast and South India.

Chances of rain in Delhi for next 5 days

Light rain and light drizzle is expected in the capital Delhi today. According to the Meteorological Department, today the maximum temperature in Delhi can be recorded around 33 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature can be around 26 degrees Celsius. Intermittent light rains and showers will continue in Delhi till the last day of August i.e. 31st August.

However, the pace of monsoon in Delhi now seems to be gradually slowing down. The Meteorological Department says that there is very little possibility of any heavy rain in the capital within the coming 15 days.

Alert of heavy rain and storm in UP-Bihar

Monsoon remains fully active in Uttar Pradesh. Today the Meteorological Department has predicted torrential rains in a total of 29 districts including the Terai areas of the state and Bundelkhand. In view of this, yellow alert has been issued in these areas.

There has also been a warning of strong storm with rain in many districts of the neighboring state of Bihar. Weather conditions may worsen in Purnia, Jehanabad, Darbhanga, Bhagalpur, Vaishali, Lakhisarai, Madhubani, Kishanganj, Begusarai, Siwan and Buxar. At the same time, due to the effect of low pressure in Jharkhand, the speed of rain may increase further.

Badra's orgy in central and western India also

The effect of monsoon in Rajasthan does not seem to be reducing at present. Rain with strong winds is expected in various parts of the state. In Madhya Pradesh too, warning of heavy rain has been issued for many districts. The effect of clouds will be more visible in Chhatarpur, Datia, Gwalior, Niwari, Panna, Rewa, Satna, Sidhi, Singrauli and Tikamgarh.

An alert has also been issued in some areas of Chhattisgarh regarding torrential rains. Intermittent rain is expected in Konkan and Goa till August 31. There may be heavy rain in Central Maharashtra today, while rain will continue in Vidarbha till August 28. There is a possibility of rain at isolated places in Gujarat and Saurashtra-Kutch till August 31.

Rainy season will continue in north-eastern states

People of Eastern and North-Eastern India do not seem to be getting any respite from the rain at present. There is a possibility of heavy rain in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim till August 28. Monsoon rains have also been predicted to increase in Odisha. There may be heavy rain in Arunachal Pradesh today.

Rain activities will intensify in Assam and Meghalaya between August 28 and 31. Apart from this, there is every possibility of light to moderate rain in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura in the remaining days of August.

Monsoon will remain active in South India also

The effect of monsoon is clearly visible in the states of South India also. Heavy rain is expected in Kerala today. Coastal Karnataka is likely to receive good rains till August 31. At the same time, an alert has been issued in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal today regarding strong winds accompanied by thunder and lightning.

Yellow alert in Himachal and Uttarakhand

Travelers and local people traveling in hilly states need to take special precautions. Heavy rain warning has been issued in Bageshwar, Champawat, Dehradun, Pithoragarh, Rishikesh, Haridwar and Tehri Garhwal of Uttarakhand.

There may be heavy rain in many districts of Himachal Pradesh including Solan, Kangra, Una, Lahaul-Spiti, Mandi, Kullu and Bilaspur. Yellow alert regarding rain is also issued in Udhampur, Kulgam, Anantnag, Jammu, Muzaffarabad, Ramban, Kishtwar, Baramulla and Rajouri of Jammu and Kashmir. People going to the mountains have been advised to start their journey only after seeing the latest weather updates.
