Tezzbuzz Desk: 24 important proposals were approved in the cabinet meeting chaired by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday. Many important decisions to transport, health, investment, infrastructure, employment and public welfare were taken in the meeting. The most important decision among these is to provide lifetime free travel facility in Uttar Pradesh Transport Corporation buses to women above 60 years of age. The government has launched this scheme 'Lokmata Ahilyabai Matrushakti Yojana' Name given.

According to the Cabinet decision, women above 60 years of age in Uttar Pradesh will now be able to travel free for life in Transport Corporation buses. According to the government, this scheme will help the state more than one crore women Expected to get benefits. Its objective is to provide relief to elderly women from travel expenses and to provide them the facility to travel easily for treatment, to meet family, for religious or other important purposes.

Transport Minister Dayashankar Singh said that under the scheme, eligible women will not need to go through any separate complicated process. Documents like Aadhar Card or Voter ID can be used to prove your age and identity. On the basis of identity card, women will be able to avail free travel in transport corporation buses.

Big gift to women before Rakshabandhan

This decision of the government is being seen as a big gift for women before Rakshabandhan. By making it easier for elderly women to use public transport, they can get great relief from their commuting expenses.
