There is often concern about Bhadra period on the festival of Rakhi, because in religious beliefs, doing any auspicious work or tying Raksha Sutra during Bhadra is considered completely prohibited. But it is a big relief for the sisters that there will be no obstruction of Bhadra on 28th August.
Bhadra time will start at 9:09 am on 27th August and will end at 9:25 pm on the same night. In such a situation, the entire day of 28th August will be free from the inauspicious shadow of Bhadra and will be completely holy.

This eclipse will start from 6:53 am Indian time and will continue till 12:31 pm Indian time. There is a clear rule in the religious scriptures that the Sutak period of an eclipse which is not visible to the naked eye is also not valid. Therefore, there is no need to have any kind of doubt or unnecessary worry to the eclipse while tying Rakhi or performing puja on this day.

It is considered auspicious to take special care of the direction while tying Rakshasutra. According to belief, while tying Rakhi, brother's face should be towards east or north-east direction. Keep Rakhi, kumkum, sandalwood, akshat, lamp and sweets in the puja thali. First apply Tilak on the brother's forehead and offer him Akshat, then after performing the Aarti, tie Rakhi and feed him sweets. After this, the brother can give a gift to his sister and take a pledge to protect her. This time there are many auspicious times on 28th August. There will be Amrit Choghadiya from 6:08 am to 10:53 am, Abhijit Muhurta from 12:04 pm to 12:53 pm and Shubh Choghadiya from 12:28 pm to 2:03 pm. Char Choghadiya from 5:13 to 6:48 pm is also considered auspicious.
