Watch: Aaryavir Sehwag Leaves Fans Stunned With Virender Sehwag-Like Shots In DPL

Virender Sehwag remains one of the most celebrated opening batters in Indian cricket, remembered for his aggressive approach and ability to change the course of a match within a few overs. After making his ODI debut against Pakistan in 1999, Sehwag went on to play 374 international matches for India, accumulating 17,253 runs across Tests, ODIs and T20Is. His career included 38 centuries and 72 half-centuries.

Although Sehwag has long since retired from international cricket, his batting legacy appears to be continuing through his son, Aaryavir Sehwag. The youngster, who represents West Delhi Lions in the Delhi Premier League (DPL), recently caught attention after displaying several strokes reminiscent of his legendary father.

Aaryavir was seen playing shots such as the square drive and cover drive in a manner strikingly similar to Sehwag. DPL also posted a comparison video on social media, showing the similarities between the batting styles of the father and son.

West Delhi Lions fall short against Central Delhi Kings

Meanwhile, West Delhi Lions suffered a 21-run defeat against Central Delhi Kings on Saturday. Central Delhi Kings put up a formidable 232/8 after being asked to bat first, with several of their batters producing aggressive knocks.

Opener Siddharth Joon continued his impressive form with a rapid 33 off 17 deliveries, including two fours and four sixes. Samarth Seth then added further impetus, smashing 37 from just 14 balls with five boundaries and two sixes.

West Delhi Lions began their chase positively, reaching 71/2 in only 4.5 overs. However, the dismissal of Aaryavir Sehwag gave Central Delhi Kings an opening.

Krish Yadav and Ankit Kumar then took charge and rebuilt the innings with an attacking partnership. The duo added 59 runs for the fourth wicket, keeping the Lions in contention during the chase.

Their stand was eventually broken when Tejas Baroka dismissed Krish Yadav, who had scored an impressive 46 from 26 balls, including seven fours and a six.

Ankit Kumar continued to fight and produced an explosive 61 off 30 balls, striking four boundaries and five sixes. His dismissal, however, left West Delhi Lions with too much ground to cover in the final stages.

The Lions eventually finished their 20 overs at 211/8, ending their chase 21 runs short of Central Delhi Kings' imposing target.
