Hyderabad: A gang of four interstate drug peddlers was arrested in Hyderabad on Saturday, August 22, and 48 kg of dry ganja was seized from them.
The accused, identified as Bandiya, a drug peddler from Delhi; Naushad and Rajesh, both suppliers from Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh; and Ankit Kumar from Bihar, were transporting the drug from Visakhapatnam to Delhi.
According to Abid Road Police, Kumar met a minor who was working as a delivery partner and was facing financial issues. The accused offered money to the minor for transportation of ganja.
Kumar also introduced the minor to Bandiya. Based on Bandiya’s instructions, Kumar and the minor travelled to Visakhapatnam to procure ganja from Naushad and Rajesh. After procuring the contraband, Kumar and the minor were travelling to Delhi with the drug concealed in four bags.
After reaching the Secunderabad Railway Station, the accused took an auto-rickshaw to the Nampally Railway Station. However, Kumar asked the minor to get down at the City Convention Centre, Function Hall, Nampally.
While the minor waited at the convention centre, the Commissioner’s Task Force, Khairatabad Zone and Abid Road Police arrested him.
