Pakistan is scheduled to host the 14th South Asian Games from April 3 to 11, 2027, with events planned across Islamabad, Lahore and Peshawar.
As per The News Pakistan, an Indian representative joined a South Asia Olympic Council (SAOC) Executive Committee meeting virtually and supported the proposed dates and arrangements for the Games.
That has triggered speculation over whether India could eventually send its athletes to Pakistan.
However, the reported approval of the schedule does not amount to formal confirmation that an Indian contingent will travel to Pakistan.
A Pakistani government official cited by Dawn, a Pakistani newspaper, reportedly viewed India's support as an indication that New Delhi intended to participate.
That being said, readers must remember that there is no official confirmation about India travelling to Pakistan for the tournament as of this writing.
