Sawan Last Somwar 2026: Many auspicious yogas are being formed on Sawan Monday, worship during Pradosh period will give special results.

The last Monday of Sawan is considered very special for the worship of Lord Shiva. According to religious beliefs, by observing fast on this day and worshiping as per rituals, one gets the blessings of Lord Bholenath. It is believed that worshiping Shiva with a true heart reduces problems and brings blessings of fulfillment of wishes. If you too are going to perform Jalabhishek of Shivling today, then it is important to know the auspicious time and correct method of worship.

Auspicious time for Jalabhishek and puja

Brahma Muhurta: 4:25 am to 5:10 am
Best time for morning puja: 6 am to 9:15 am
Abhijeet Muhurta: 12 noon to 12:50 pm

Pradosh Kaal: 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm

Auspicious yoga is being formed on the last Monday of Sawan

Many auspicious combinations are taking place on the last Monday of Sawan. On this day, along with Preeti Yoga and Ayushman Yoga, there will also be Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga. Apart from this, the coincidence of Pradosh Kaal in the evening is also considered special for the puja. There is a religious belief that Shiva worship and Jalabhishek done at such auspicious times give special results.

Correct method of offering water to Shivalinga

For Jalabhishek, take clean water or Ganga water in a copper or silver vessel. Offer water while facing north. First of all, offer water on the left side of Jaladhari, where it is considered to be the place of Lord Ganesha. After this, offer water to Lord Kartikeya on the right side. Then offer water on the middle part and the round part of the Jaladhari. Finally, while chanting ‘Om Namah Shivay’ or ‘Shri Shivay Namstubhyam’, slowly offer a thin stream of water on the Shivalinga.

After taking bath in the morning, wear clean clothes and take a pledge to fast or worship. After this, bathe Shivling with Panchamrit. Panchamrit includes milk, curd, ghee, honey and sugar. Then anoint Shivling with clean water. After this, offer white sandalwood, Bhasma, Akshat, Belpatra, Dhatura, Bhang, Shami leaves and Datika flowers to Bholenath.

Finally recite Shiv Chalisa or Rudrashtakam. Offer fruits, sweets or kheer and perform Aarti with incense sticks and seek forgiveness from Lord Shiva for the mistake made during the puja.
