Supporters at Stade Saputo were served up a thrilling contest on Saturday evening as CF Montreal and LA Galaxy finished level at 2-2.
The evening began with plenty of anticipation around the arrival of Chile star Alexis Sanchez, who was set to make his home debut.
It was Daniel Rios who first grabbed the spotlight, putting Montreal ahead with a close-range redirection.
But the joy for the home fans did not last long. The visitors hit back with two goals, from Ruben Ramos Junior and Maya Yoshida, to move 2-1 in front.
The match then turned dramatically against the league leaders shortly after Sanchez came on.
Goalkeeper J.T. Marcinkowski was sent off after rushing out of his area in an attempt to break up a one-on-one situation. Instead, he brought down the advancing player.
That meant LA Galaxy were reduced to 10 men for a third straight match.
And with the extra man, Montreal fought their way back into the game. Prince Owusu rose highest inside the box to score his fourth goal in succession.
Chucky Lozano then squandered a gilt-edged chance to snatch all three points right at the end.
It was certainly a thrilling night in Quebec.
