The second test match between India and Sri Lanka has started from 23 August. This match is being played at the Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo. The Indian team looked in good condition on the first day of the match. By the end of the day's play, India had scored 300 runs at the loss of 5 wickets. Devdutt Padikkal played a brilliant inning of 117 runs in 193 balls. During this he hit 12 fours. Whereas, Shubhman Gill scored 50 runs in 108 balls. On the other hand, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ravindra Jadeja missed half-centuries. Jaiswal was out after scoring 45 runs, while Jadeja scored 43 runs. KL Rahul once again could not play a big innings and was out after scoring 18 runs. At the same time, Rishabh Pant had to retire after the ball hit his wrist.

Indian team's innings on the first day

India's beginning was nothing special. In the morning session, the team lost two wickets before reaching 66 runs.
