New Delhi: Indian leg spinner Karn Sharma has announced his retirement from all formats of cricket at the age of 38. Karna, who has played four international matches for India, informed about his decision during the UP T20 League. He played his last match for India in 2014, after which he did not get a place in the national team again.

Karn Sharma represented many big IPL teams in his career. He has played for Sunrisers Hyderabad, Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Chennai Super Kings.

The last match will be played on 25th August

According to the report of ESPN Cricinfo, Karn Sharma will take the field for the last time on August 25. After this he will retire from all formats of cricket.

On his decision, Karan Sharma said that he now wants to retire. Along with his family, he expressed his gratitude to BCCI, Railways, UPCA, Andhra Pradesh Cricket Association, Vidarbha Cricket Association and all the people who supported his cricket journey.

He also said that after retirement he will be available for coaching and other cricket responsibilities.

Played only 4 international matches for India

Karan Sharma's international career did not last long. He played a total of 4 matches for India, which includes one Test, two ODIs and one T20 International match.

He took four wickets in Test cricket and one wicket in T20 Internationals. In this way, he had a total of five international wickets in his name for India.

However, despite getting limited opportunities in the national team, Karn Sharma's record in domestic cricket remained impressive.

Record of 551 wickets in domestic cricket

Karn Sharma took 551 wickets in his name including first class, List A and T20 cricket.

2018: Won third consecutive trophy with Chennai Super Kings

By winning his third title in 2018, Karn Sharma became one of the few players to have won the IPL trophy with three different teams in three consecutive seasons. He played his last IPL match for Mumbai Indians in 2025.
