Petrol-Diesel Prices: State-owned oil companies in India are closely monitoring the fluctuations in international crude oil prices. If prices remain high for an extended period, their 'under-recoveries' could increase.

Petrol-Diesel Prices Today (August 23, 2026): Due to the conflict between the US and Iran, everything from US Federal Reserve interest rates and Wall Street to Asian stock markets and the rupee is facing uncertainty. Crude oil prices have not remained unaffected by this either.

Amid rising tensions in West Asia, crude oil prices are hovering above $91 per barrel. This is a cause for concern for India, which relies heavily on crude oil imports. Higher crude oil prices translate to higher petrol and diesel prices, which fuels inflation. Amidst these geopolitical uncertainties, oil marketing companies have released new petrol and diesel prices for the domestic market.
