Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav has responded to the sharp attacks of his former ally and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati. Mayawati had accused SP of changing colors like a 'chameleon' and not being honest in the alliance. In response to this, Akhilesh clearly said that SP never breaks the alliance, but cooperates with full honesty.

Actually, this controversy started after the statement of SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, in which he, while referring to Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) President and Union Minister Jayant Chaudhary, had said that 'we have converted him from rupees to rupees'.

Akhilesh spoke on familyism and unity of SP

In a press conference held at the party headquarters on Saturday, Akhilesh Yadav said that SP does not leave anyone, rather people themselves leave the party. Supporting familyism, he said that many political parties broke up in the country, but SP never broke up. The reason for this was that five MPs of the party were from his own family, while there were some Muslim MPs and some staunch socialist leaders, who kept the party united.

Counterattack on Pakistan's statement with 'P'

Hitting back at Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's statement that 'P' meant Pakistan, Akhilesh said, “If he says so, then I can also say that BJP means 'Bhaag Ja Pakistan' or 'Bhaag Jao Pakistan'.” He alleged that the BJP and the Chief Minister are scared of the growing influence of PDA (Backward, Dalit, Minority). According to Akhilesh, the real meaning of PDA for him is love, kindness and affection. He advised other political parties that the parties which are cornering SP should fight against BJP.

Clarification given on 'Chavanni' statement

Giving clarification on the statement given on RLD chief Jayant Chaudhary, Akhilesh Yadav said that he did not say anything wrong. He challenged BJP to give four times more seats to its allies than SP. Akhilesh said, “We had given 30 seats to RLD. If BJP does not give them 120 seats, it will be an insult to former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh.”

Let us tell you that the political connection of the word 'Chavanni' is linked to an old statement of Jayant Chaudhary himself. On speculations that he would join the BJP during the SP-RLD alliance in January 2022, Jayant had said, “I am not a cheapskate who will turn around.” However, in the 2024 elections, RLD left SP and joined NDA.

Politics of Western UP and Mayawati's attack

Now this war of words is revolving around the Jat politics of Western UP, the legacy of Chaudhary Charan Singh and the old relations of SP-RLD. Mayawati has demanded Akhilesh to apologize to the Jat community regarding this statement.

Recalling the famous State Guest House incident of June 2, 1995, Mayawati wrote on the social media platform 'X' that SP's behavior, character and face have always been full of political narrow-mindedness and casteist hatred. He alleged that only goons and mafias benefited during the SP rule.

Taunt on government and administrative system

Taking a jibe at the Chief Minister, the SP chief said that these days the Chief Minister is seen more with children because after the government goes down, he will be left with only this work. Speaking on the rising prices of sugar in the country, he said that ethanol is being mixed in petrol for the profit of the companies, due to which sugar is becoming expensive. He raised the question that on one hand it is claimed that per capita income has increased, while on the other hand free ration is being distributed to 15 crore people.

Apart from this, he said that the BJP government is cheating people in the name of buying cow urine. On the question of getting a bulletproof jacket for himself, he said that he has not received any such jacket yet. Akhilesh Yadav announced that SP will bring a separate manifesto for the disabled for the upcoming elections and if voted to power, special facilities will be provided under 'Kamadhenu Yojana' for dairy farmers.
