SUMMARY

D2C startup Be Clinical has raised ₹21 Cr in its seed extension round led by Sauce, with participation from existing investor V3 Ventures and several angel investors

The funding reflects growing investor interest in efficacy-led skincare brands as consumers increasingly seek clinically tested products targeting specific concerns

Be Clinical will use the capital to strengthen R&D, expand its skin, body, and haircare portfolio, scale manufacturing capacity, and enter new markets

D2C skincare brand Be Clinical has raised ₹21 Cr (about $2.2 Mn) in its seed extension round led by Sauce, with participation from existing investor V3 Ventures.

The round also saw participation from several angel investors, including Mokobara founders Sangeet Agrawal and Navin Parwal, Reckitt SVP and MD for Greater China and North Asia Arjun Purkayastha, and Shaunak Chirayu Amin.

The beauty and personal care (BPC) startup plans to use the fresh capital to strengthen its R&D capabilities, expand its skin, body, and haircare portfolio, scale manufacturing capacity, and enter new markets and geographies.

The startup also plans to strengthen its team and invest further in its clinical testing and manufacturing capabilities.

Founded by Hemangi Dhir, Be Clinical was launched in 2025 after two years of R&D. It develops clinically tested products containing dermatologically active ingredients to address ageing- concerns among Indian consumers.

App Launched

The startup undertakes clinical testing to validate the safety and efficacy of its products before launching them. Its in-house manufacturing setup, it claims, gives it greater control over product quality and efficacy.

Be Clinical claims to have delivered 1.2 Lakh orders since its launch and recorded a healthy share of repeat purchases.

Its portfolio includes products such as PlumpX Serum, FirmX Serum, Revive 10 Eye Cream, and Neck Repair Cream. While Be Clinical’s website is its primary sales channel, its products are also available on ecommerce marketplaces such as Amazon and Flipkart.

“Longevity is expanding into how people look and feel — and Be Clinical is capturing that shift in personal care through a full-stack model with in-house R&D, manufacturing, and clinically tested formulations. We see this evidence-led approach as a genuine differentiator in the category, and feel this market and demographic is untapped,” Sauce’s VP Zoeb Ali Khan said.

Notably, Be Clinical also featured in Inc42’s flagship ’30 Startups To Watch’ edition of May 2025.

Prior to this, the startup raised ₹6 Cr in a seed funding round led by V3 Ventures, with participation from Titan Capital. Before that, it raised ₹2 Cr from Titan Capital and P-TAL founder Aditya Agarwal.

Be Clinical competes with homegrown brands such as Dr Sheth’s, Pilgrim, Innovist, and Mamaearth, as well as global players including Clinique, Neutrogena, and Cetaphil.

The fundraise comes amid increasing consumer interest in skincare products containing active ingredients and backed by clinical testing. This shift is giving emerging D2C brands another way to differentiate themselves in India’s crowded BPC market.

Investor interest in the segment has also remained strong. Earlier this month, Typsy Beauty raised ₹20 Cr in a funding round led by Saama Capital.

India’s BPC market was valued at $31.19 Bn in 2025 and is projected to reach $48.72 Bn by 2034growing at a CAGR of 5.08%, according to IMARC Group.
