ISRO Private Sector Transition: A big information is coming out about the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). ISRO is gradually going to hand over the responsibility of its traditional work like making launch vehicles (rockets) and common satellites to the private sector. It is believed that after handing over the command of launching to private sector ISRO Will work as a Research and Development (R&D) organization, which will focus on developing space infrastructure.
ISRO will now step back from the work of launching rockets and missiles and focus more on research and new technology as well as scientific missions and infrastructure. From this it is believed that there can be a big change in the role of ISRO compared to before.

Private sector and private companies will take command

Dr. Pawan Goenka, Chairman of IN-SPACe, gave this information in a program of a media organization that all the work of rocket and satellite manufacturing is now being handed over to private companies. Under this new change, the technology and production rights of ‘Small Satellite Launch Vehicle’ (SSLV) have been handed over to ‘Hindustan Aeronautics Limited’ (HAL) through a bidding process. The purpose of this change will be to rapidly advance the space sector and also to take forward the participation of private companies.

120 technologies given in private sector

According to Dr. Pawan Goenka, till now 120 technologies have been transferred to the private sector. If seen, this change has started from SSLV. After SSLV, the next big step can be regarding PSLV and LVM3. LVM3 is India’s most powerful operational rocket. He told that there are preparations to take the manufacturing of these launch vehicles to the private sector. This will give a boost to the commercial model where private companies will be able to make their own satellites and earn through data and services.
