CM Yogi is strict on the availability of sugar, said- there is no shortage of sugar, action will be taken against those doing hoarding and black marketing.

Sugar Price Hike: In Lucknow, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held a review meeting regarding the availability of sugar in the state. He said that there is sufficient quantity of sugar available in the state and the common people need not face any problem. Appealing to the people not to pay heed to rumours, the Chief Minister directed the officials to take strict action against those involved in hoarding and black marketing.

150.50 lakh quintal sugar included

In the meeting, officials told that there is a total stock of 179.38 lakh quintals of sugar in the sugar mills of the state. This includes 23.60 lakh quintals of sugar in cooperative sector mills, 5.28 lakh quintals in corporation mills and 150.50 lakh quintals of sugar in private sugar mills.

The distribution system should be constantly monitored

Officials informed that about 235 lakh quintals of sugar have been sold by sugar mills during the months of June and July. The Chief Minister said that all necessary steps should be taken to maintain supply in the market. CM Yogi instructed the sugar mills to prepare to start operations from October 15 as per the need. He said that the availability and distribution system of sugar should be continuously monitored.

No permission to keep more than 400 tonnes of sugar

The Chief Minister also gave clear instructions regarding stock limit. He said that no dealer can keep sugar stock for more than 30 days. At the same time, no dealer will be allowed to keep more than 400 tonnes of sugar at a time. Apart from this, big consumers (bulk consumers) will be able to store sugar only as per their requirement for maximum 15 days.

The Chief Minister directed the officials to continuously monitor the supply, prices and storage system of sugar, so that sugar is available to the consumers at a reasonable price.
