Business Desk – Gold Silver Rate Today: There was a rise in the prices of gold and silver this week. According to India Bullion and Jewelers Association (IBJA), 10 grams of 24 carat gold rose by Rs 8,257 to Rs 1,60,620. Its price on August 14 was Rs 1,52,363.

At the same time, silver became costlier by Rs 12,788 to Rs 2,46,630 per kg. As of December 31, 2025, gold has become costlier by Rs 27,425 so far. According to experts, by December, gold can reach Rs 1.70 lakh and silver can reach Rs 3 lakh per kg.

The price of 24 carat gold is Rs 1,60,620 for 10 grams. 22 carat gold is at Rs 1,47,128, 18 carat gold is at Rs 1,20,465 and 14 carat gold is at Rs 93,963 per 10 grams.

Gold costlier by Rs 27,425 so far in 2026

This year, there have been continuous fluctuations in the prices of gold and silver. On December 31, 2025, the price of 10 grams of gold was Rs 1,33,195. On August 22, 2026, it increased to Rs 1,60,620. That means gold became costlier by Rs 27,425 during this period.

Silver also increased from Rs 2,30,420 per kg on December 31, 2025 to Rs 2,46,630 per kg on August 22. However, this year both the metals have reached even higher levels. On January 29, gold had made an all-time high of Rs 1.76 lakh and silver of Rs 3.86 lakh.

This is how gold and silver prices have changed so far this year

On December 31, 2025, gold was Rs 1,33,195 and silver was Rs 2,30,420 per kg. On January 31, gold reached Rs 1,65,795 and silver reached Rs 3,39,350. On February 28, gold was Rs 1,50,997 and silver was Rs 2,66,700.

On March 31, the price of gold was Rs 1,46,733 and that of silver was Rs 2,30,135. On April 30, gold was at Rs 1,50,263 and silver at Rs 2,40,331. On May 31, gold was Rs 1,56,463 and silver was Rs 2,63,350.

On June 30, gold came to Rs 1,41,286 and silver to Rs 2,25,425. On July 31, gold was Rs 1,42,860 and silver was Rs 2,18,295. On August 22, gold reached Rs 1,60,620 and silver reached Rs 2,46,630.

By December, gold can reach 1.70 lakh and silver can reach 3 lakh.

According to Anindya Banerjee, Senior VP and Commodity Research Head, Kotak Securities, gold is also getting support from purchases by general investors along with central banks around the world, such as RBI. Central banks are continuously buying gold.

He says that gold can remain bullish even in difficult circumstances. At the same time, if the situation improves, a rise in silver may also be seen. Based on the current situation, the price of gold can reach Rs 1.70 lakh and the price of silver can reach Rs 3 lakh per kg by December.
