This statement of the BJP MP came at the 'Students' Echo' program of Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi in Pune.
Speaking to IANS in New Delhi, Chandolia said that despite there being a Congress-backed government in Jharkhand, there was violence against students, but Rahul Gandhi did not react to it. At the same time, there is a BJP government in Maharashtra and Rahul Gandhi is going to Pune and raising issues to students. The focus should be on solving the problems of students instead of using them for political gains.
Questioning the role of Rahul Gandhi, he said that it is not appropriate to give political color to the students' issues in this way. BJP MP also cornered Congress regarding 'Vande Mataram'.
He said that 'Vande Mataram' was written about 150 years ago and it is connected with the sentiments of the country. If the government has taken any decision in this regard and a law has been made, then 'Vande Mataram' should be sung accordingly.
He accused the Congress that the decision to sing only two stanzas of 'Vande Mataram' in the meeting is an insult to the country and the national anthem. If Congress had any objection to this decision then it should have discussed the issue in Parliament. He also criticized Sonia Gandhi in this matter.
On the rising prices of sugar, the BJP MP said that such situations arise from time to time and the government is keeping an eye on the situation. Steps to import and export will also be taken to control prices and the government is taking necessary measures. He expressed confidence that the government will take whatever steps are necessary to improve the situation of sugar prices.
Regarding the issue of students in Ranchi, the BJP MP claimed that the students know who is standing with them and who is only doing politics.
Referring to the CJP-led protests in Delhi, the BJP MP also targeted the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party and alleged that the opposition parties were using these issues for political gains.
