In Mumbai and other parts of Maharashtra, the 10-day Ganeshotsav is one of the biggest and most widely celebrated festivals. During the festival, the idols of Lord Ganapati, the elephant-headed Hindu deity, are installed and worshipped in pandals and homes.
For more than a decade, elaborate arrival processions have been organised in Mumbai, with devotees bringing idols to various pandals amid music, celebrations and large gatherings. PTI KK AMJ AMJ
