Kanpur, 22 August. On the seventh day of the ongoing UTT National Ranking Table Tennis Championship at The Sports Hub, exciting table tennis was witnessed in the final matches of Under-17 boys and girls category. In the Under-17 boys category, Vivaan Dave of Gujarat and in the girls category Divyanshi Bhowmik of Maharashtra performed brilliantly and achieved the honor of becoming the winners.
In the final of the boys category, Vivaan Dave of Gujarat won the title by defeating Atharva Navarange of Karnataka in a tough fight 8-11, 11-8, 11-9, 9-11, 11-4. Atharva started well by winning the first game, but Vivaan took the lead in the match by winning two consecutive games. In the fourth game, Atharva made a comeback and leveled the match at 2-2. In the decisive fifth game, Vivaan showed a great combination of composure and aggressive play and won 11-4.
In the final of the girls' category, Divyanshi Bhowmik of Maharashtra achieved golden success by defeating Ananya Muralitharan of Tamil Nadu 11-6, 9-11, 12-10, 11-3. Divyanshi took the lead in the first game, while Ananya leveled the match by winning the second game. There was a fierce struggle between the two players in the third game, in which Divyanshi gained a decisive lead by winning 12-10. In the fourth game, he won 11-3 with excellent control and captured the title.
Earlier, in the semi-finals of the boys category, Vivaan Dave had defeated Vishrut Ramakrishnan of Tamil Nadu by 11-7, 10-12, 11-8, 11-7 and Atharva Navarange had entered the final by defeating Prateek Tulsani of Maharashtra by 7-11, 11-6, 11-7, 11-8.
In the semi-finals of the girls' category, Divyanshi Bhowmik defeated Ankolika Chakraborty of West Bengal 14-12, 11-8, 11-4. In the second semi-final, Ananya Muralitharan of Tamil Nadu defeated Naisha Rewaskar of Maharashtra 5-11, 16-14, 11-9, 10-12, 11-8 in a very thrilling five-game match.
Veterans boosted the players' morale
On the seventh day of the competition, former international player and eight-time national champion Indu Puri, Dronacharya Awardee Sandeep Gupta, UPTTA Chairman Sanjeev Pathak, UPTTA Secretary Arun Banerjee, Ankit Gupta, Piyush Aggarwal and Sanjay Tandon were prominently present as chief guests and special guests. The guests congratulated the winners and runners-up and wished them a bright future.

After the conclusion of the matches of Under-17 category, now everyone's eyes will be on the main draw of men's and women's singles and the matches of Under-19 boys and girls category in the competition. The finals of all the categories will be played tomorrow. The finale will be held at 6 pm in which TTFI officials will be present.
