New Delhi: Police has taken major action in the matter of leaking of question paper of Entomology examination of Indira Gandhi Agricultural University (IGKV) in Raipur. Within 36 hours of the incident coming to light, the police have arrested six people, including the main accused professor. Investigation has revealed that photos and videos of the question paper were made and made available to the students for money.
The matter pertains to the AGCH-221 (Entomology) examination of second year, second semester of B.Sc. Agriculture. On August 20, a day before the examination, the university got information about the question paper going viral on social media. Students and student representatives also shared some questions from the question paper through WhatsApp. After this, a complaint was lodged with the police on behalf of the university.
Clues found through investigation of social media
Seeing the seriousness of the matter, teams of Anti Crime and Cyber Unit and Telibandha Police started investigation. More than 100 policemen were pressed into action. The cyber team conducted technical investigation of photos, videos, screenshots, posts and messages of the viral question paper. Through this, an attempt was made to find out from which account or number the question paper first came out and to whom it reached.
After continuous investigation, the police reached Anuj Minj, a resident of Durg. After this, teams raided many places including Kabirdham, Raipur, Durg and Bilaspur and arrested six accused.

According to the police, the main accused in the case is Yogesh Sonkesaria, who is a professor at Bharti Agriculture College, Durg since 2019. He had come to the Agricultural College in Raipur in connection with examination work. On August 17, he had taken question papers for the upcoming examinations. It is alleged that he took the entomology question paper home. There he made a very small hole in the envelope and recorded the question paper through the mobile camera. After this, he made a copy of the question paper content and sold it to his college student Ajay Nayak and other students for Rs 11,000.
Two accused still absconding
According to the police, after this the question paper reached many other students and went viral on social media. In the case, six mobile phones, Rs 11,000, video recording equipment, cables, connectors, needles, cotton wool, copy and Fevicol and other items have been seized. Police say that two accused are still absconding. Their search is going on and the entire chain of paper leak is being ascertained by interrogating the arrested accused.
